Code 18 is a Canadian prog-rock band from the Outaouais region, in Québec, Canada. It was formed in 2008 by Johnny Maz to record his musical ideas. He chose very talented musicians to help him on this project : JF Rémillard to perform the guitar duties, and Bönz on bass and vocals.
The band have a new album out, and it feels instantly very familiar. Prog as it should be! Prog Archives review: ” ‘It’s not about the close you wear’, sang the Cars! Proof is often found in the structure, as this nearly 69-minute album kicks off with a nice, longer than usual “Prelude” (how quaint!) and ends seven pieces later with a dozen minute epic called “Justice?”, with the previous track “A New Soul” clocking in over14 minutes. We are not in syrupy sing-along “Follow you, Follow me” neo mode. We are talking Code 18! Bon, ca suffit!
